Last week, Tony Idugboe joined Itanna, the Lagos-based impact initiative that invests in startups in Africa, as Vice President – Head of Innovation Centre.
Tony is passionate about the African startup ecosystem, having made several personal investments into various African startups. A graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting, Tony brings with him over 8 years experience in principal investing and asset management including working for Goldman Sachs Asset Management Private Equity team and Morgan Stanley’s Alternative Investment Partners.
Tony joins Itanna from Lagos-based fintech startup TalentBase Nigeria Limited, where he was Chief Operating Officer. He has also co-founded two African focused investment groups – Rana Capital and Kernel Fund.
Tony will be responsible for managing Itanna’s Lagos Innovation Centre. He will oversee the recruitment of startups, as well as the successful implementation of Itanna’s programmes. Tony will work closely with Itanna’s network of mentors while lending his expertise in making and monitoring investments on behalf of Itanna.
Itanna is an impact initiative that invests in disruptive businesses in Africa providing growth capital and seed capital through its 5-month accelerator programme. Developed by the Honeywell Group in partnership with the African Economic Revolution Fund (AERF), it is located at the Enterprise Factory in Lagos.
